Wave Strength.
This Mural was painted in Honolulu, Hawaii, in the Kakaako neighborhood. It was part of a special event by Pow! Wow! Hawaii / Worldwide 2020 as part of their 10th year anniversary. It was truly an honor to be able to participate and paint with my great friend Mike “Habohs”, of SoulSignature Tattoos , on this mural, but also alongside many great artists. Thanks and congratulations to the organizers Jasper Wong, Kamea Hadar, and Jeff Gress who have worked effortlessly to make this happen for 10 strong years worldwide.

Rise
Welp, it’s been an amazing adventure. I grew mentally , emotionally, and... well with all the good eating, physically. 😂
The day I started this mural my grandfather had a stroke, and the day I finished, he passed away. I so wanted him to see this, but I know he’s looking at it now from the sky.
I gave this mural a title several months ago. “Rise”.
It was a challenge for me and I felt that I did my best to rise to the occasion and celebrate family, friends, new beginnings, and life.

Meaning
.
The sea is a symbol of family ties, and as the sea is connected anywhere in the world, it is connected everywhere in the world.
The lines in the waves represent ripples. Not a steady, smooth wave, but a wave of fear is the expression that life doesn't go smoothly and there are many difficult times, but whatever happens, families are connected like the sea, and in sad times, tough times, good times and more they come together and rise like tide.
I didn’t title it sunrise because I didn't want to identify the meaning of a “sunrise" only. Rise also means "rise with courage!" The sunrise also symbolizes that whatever happens in life, the sun always rises again. .

Dont Stop The Rock
PowWow 2017
In this mural I was invited by Ckaweeks, who is a great friend and artist in Hawaii, to paint this mural.
This is an ode to Hip Hop. Breaking down the elements of the Hip Hop Movements that started it all. From b-girls & b-boys, to MCs & DJs, to graffiti writers and those who howl at the moon.
Chicago, Rogers Park
Painted in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood. Near Clark and Lunt under the Metra Station. This was a city beautification project where the city hired artists to paint underpasses around Roger’s Park. The submission was lengthy and in order to be selected your proposal was voted in by a panel of judges. hundreds of proposals were submitted. I was fortunate to have my proposal voted in.
I titled this pieces “Share Your Love”. Which in a city like Chicago sometimes a little love can go a long way especially if its shared with the whole community. But it has to be a collaborative effort.

She Holds the Key to the City
This mural represents Lake Michigan holding the key to the city of Chicago, as she places a structure in place while sharing her love for the city!
Thanks to JC Rivera who invited me to participate in this project alongside other great artists from Chicago.
